San Piero a Sieve, a view of the centerSan Piero a Sieve, a view of the centerSan Piero a Sieve is situated in the centre of a territory which from the north ramification of Monte Morello, marked by several hills (Poggio Cupo 617 metres, Poggio Scandalone 581 metres, Colle del Trebbio 451 metres And Spugnole 444 metres), slope down progressively until it opens onto the Mugello plain of which it is still a fundamental crossway.

The village developed on the point where the torrent Carza flows into the Sieve River, and where the most important Mugello roads that from Florence go to Scarperia and Imola and northern to Bologna through the territory of Barberino get together.

It had to develop as a reference point and the concentration of human settlements have spread out on the territory since ancient times and progressively assembled around the Parish of S. Peter.
